Explore the rationale and challenges behind the impetus of enhancing synergies among the biodiversity-related conventions, and why the NBSAP process should be used as an instrument to achieve the coherent implementation of the conventions through enhancing cooperation at national and regional levels.

Duration: 45 minutes

This course introduces the subject of ecosystem services, why they are important, and how they can be incorporated into different sections of NBSAPs. It will also help NBSAP practitioners to identify and prioritize NBSAP actions and milestones for achieving Targets concerning ecosystem services.

This course presents a framework to assist NBSAP practitioners to understand why, and identify how, spatial data and mapping can be incorporated into NBSAPs.

Duration: 90 mintues.

This module discusses how ecosystem services can best be incorporated into protected area management, and in so doing contribute to sustainable development. The lessons will improve your knowledge of the links between managing protected areas for biodiversity conservation and for ecosystem services. The module is designed for protected area managers, conservation practitioners, and conservation policymakers.

Duration: 4 hours

This course introduces the subject of target setting for NBSAPs, including key concepts, definitions and principles, the context of the CBD and the Aichi Biodiversity Targets as a flexible framework for target setting.
