Birds and Power Lines

This course was designed with the dual aim of providing basic information to those interested in gaining a more in-depth understanding of bird-power line interactions and the impact that these infrastructures have on this group, particularly through electrocution and collision, and to raise awareness of the main measures that can be taken to avoid or minimise these impacts. It was developed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature-Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation (IUCN-Med).

The training course addresses the problem of interactions between power lines and birds, looks in depth at the problem of collisions and electrocutions, and proposes a general analysis of the situation and more effective solutions. The technical aspects of power lines and existing solutions are also dealt with. Finally, the basis for dealing with these impacts and finding solutions is presented, calling for the collaboration of the different professionals in the sector and all the stakeholders involved.

The training course, in the form of a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course), offers a certificate of achievement.

Les Oiseaux et les Réseaux Électriques

Ce cours a été conçu dans le double objectif de fournir des informations de base aux personnes intéressées souhaitant acquérir une connaissance plus approfondie des interactions oiseaux-lignes électriques et des impacts que ces infrastructures ont sur ce groupe, notamment par électrocution et collision, et de faire connaître les principales mesures qui peuvent être prises pour éviter ou minimiser ces impacts. Il a été développé par le Centre de coopération pour la Méditerranée de l'Union internationale pour la conservation de la nature (UICN Med).
